About the speaker: Hans Boas is a Professor of Germanic Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin. His main research areas the relationship between syntax, morphology, semantics, pragmatics, and the structure of the lexicon, which he approaches from a contrastive perspective (English/German).
Abstract
In his talk, Hans Boas will shed light on various unresolved issues within the framework of Construction Grammar. By introducing data from a questionnaire of CxG practitioners, we will have a discussion about these various issues, look for points with discerning views, and identify opinions where the most consensus lies.
